Supporting the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals

We proudly support the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), focusing on several areas where we can make the greatest impact

As a renewable fuels and environmental services supplier with an in-house expert team across the country, we are in a unique position to make positive contributions to sustainability, whilst supporting our workforce and the wider community.

We are proudly focusing on these 6 UN SDGs

Affordable and clean energy

  • We are working to improve the energy efficiency of our facilities (solar & renewable energy tariffs) whilst supporting our customers with theirs
  • We’ve set a target to achieve net zero direct emissions by 2030 or sooner
  • We continually invest in research and development for cleaner fuels like HVO
  • We are helping businesses with their transition to low carbon fuels

Climate action

We are reducing our environmental impact and promoting low carbon fuels to help our customers with their targets too.

  • Our total carbon footprint has decreased by 36.2% since our 20/21 baseline with an 89.7% reduction in our scope 1 emissions and an 89.1% reduction in scope 2 emissions

We have set a number of targets to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions.

  • In 2022, we became the first UK fuel supplier to be certified carbon neutral in accordance with PAS 2060 standards, now replaced by ISO 14068
  • We aim to achieve a 42% reduction in GHG emissions across all scopes by 2028

We have implemented a number of initiatives, including:

  • Running our entire delivery fleet on HVO fuel
  • Solar panels installed on all our owned buildings
  • Switched to 100% renewable energy tariffs
  • Offsetting those emissions that we can’t reduce or avoid
  • Operational net zero emissions in Scope 1 and Scope 2 by 2030
  • Full net zero, including residual Scope 3 emissions, by 2050

Industry, innovation and infrastructure

  • We’ve upgraded our infrastructure with solar power and improved heating and are updating our fuel pumps
  • We’ve set a target to achieve complete net zero emissions including residual scope 3 by 2050
  • We support carbon reduction projects via credible carbon credits (offsetting) via the UN carbon offset platform
  • We continually invest in research and development and have a dedicated in-house technical team
  • We support local companies and enterprises
  • We were the first UK fuel supplier to run our entire delivery fleet on HVO fuel

Decent work and economic growth

  • We’ve implemented a Diversity & Inclusion Policy
  • We create jobs and equal opportunities through recruitment, career development, training, promotion and rewards
  • We respect and promote the rights and welfare of our colleagues, contractors and suppliers
  • We provide commercial and employment opportunities through our supply chains
  • We work with contractors and suppliers that behave in an economically, environmentally friendly and socially responsible manner
  • We support small and medium sized enterprises
  • We’re committed to growing our business and creating more jobs in our local community
  • We offset the emissions from our staff’s commutes

Good health and wellbeing

As a leading UK distributor of fuels and lubricants, we recognise the impact these activities would have without a strong health and safety culture. We’re committed to supplying fuel and environmental services responsibly and safely while providing a safe place to work for our colleagues, contractors, local communities and the environment by:

  • Reducing and eliminating risk in the workplace so far as is reasonably practicable through monitoring our performance and implementation of best practice
  • Implementing initiatives across the group to ensure the health, safety and mental wellbeing of our employees including free access to HealthAssured platform
  • Committing to the continual improvement of the suitability, adequacy and effectiveness of the occupational health and safety management system
  • Supporting and guiding our customers with the safe storage of fuels and oils safely

We also:

  • Focus heavily on safety whilst ensuring there’s zero harm to the public or colleagues
  • Have a Health & Safety and Environmental Policy
  • Continually assess and manage all potential health impacts from our operations
  • Support our local community

Sustainable cities and communities

  • As a leading UK fuel supplier, we are committed to making our operations sustainable. Our goal is to achieve net zero direct emissions by 2030 and complete net zero by 2050 (including residual scope 3)
  • We have switched our entire delivery fleet to fully renewable hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO fuel), reducing our own scope 1 transport emissions by 89% and our customers’ scope 3 emissions
  • We were also one of the first in the UK to import HVO into the country and are supporting our customers, old and new, with switching to renewable fuels
  • We have also switched to fully renewable energy tariffs supplemented by the installation of solar panels across all owned buildings
  • We run and attend regular sustainability consultations with businesses in our local community to help them meet their sustainability targets
